I found a Science Fiction/Fantasy Gem
I’m a history nut. Especially when fantasy and history are mixed. But then add some science fiction, aliens, and an intriguing hypothesis on the birth of vampires on Earth and you have my undivided attention. I had read a bit about the historical person, Vlad the Impaler, who also went by the name of Dracula.
Okay, that was all fascinating and so was the history at the time. However, history does not always lend itself to a good fiction story, so why not make a few tweaks? Hah! Author Susan Hamilton did in The Nosferatu Chronicles, Origins.
This is her take on where vampires came from. Since we have written about legends and myths in A Whisper from Eden, a different kind of vampire in Leon’s Lair, and are in the middle of writing about aliens coming to colonize planet earth thousands of years ago in Shakti and the Prince, well … We have a lot in common with this writer’s imagination and choice of fiction subjects.( Okay, that was a shameless plug.)
I recommend The Nosferatu Chronicles, Origins. The writing so well done, creating a real page-turner of science fiction, suspense, intrigues, and characters to root for and characters to hate. I’m looking forward to reading the sequel: The Nosferatu Chronicles: The Aztec God. Whew, does that sound interesting or what?
